As per an estimate, accessories market in India for smartphones and tablets is more than 6000 crores and to take advantage of this golden opportunity, the leading brands have started introducing Powerbanks, besides other accessories, in India. The latest entrant to join the party is Asus and in the coming days, more and more brands will be introducing their Powerbanks, which has become an essential accomplice, if you are heavy users of smartphone or tablet, and which most of us are. Hence, Powerbank is Must Have device, which should be in your bag while on the go. The other accessories in great demand are smart devices covers and bluetooth headphones etc.
Here, we shall discuss about ASUS ZenPower 10050mAh Power Bank, which was introduced in India in the month of May. The Zenpower Power bank is light weight and little bit bigger than credit card size. It has dimensions of 90.5 x 59 x 22 mm and its weight is 215 grams. This Powerbank can easily fit into your palm and if you are not carrrying the bag, you can also carry it comfortably in your trouser or shirt pocket.
The ASUS ZenPower has an aluminum-anodised body, which gives it sleek and elegant look. I got the Gold colored Power Bank for review, which has aesthetic look and coincidentally, is my favourite color also. The ZenPower is available in Silver, Pink, Blue and Gold colors for Rs. 1499, and the black color variant is priced Rs. 1599.
The Asus ZenPower can charge smartphones and tablets of various brands and batteries of various capacities. A smart phone with a battery capacity of 1500mA, 2000mA, 2500mA and 3000mA can be charged comfortably 4 times, 3 times, 2.5 times and 2 times respectively with full charge of the Powerbank. Besides this, it can also charge tablets with battery capacity of 4000mA, 4500mA and 5000mA for 1.5 times, 1.2 times and 1.1 times. These are claims of the company. But believe me, the ZenPower has more capabilites than stated by the company. To check the claim of the company, I have charged my Galaxy Grand smartphone from 0 to full charge several times ( around 8 to 10 times ) via ZenPower when it was 100 percent charged.
The Asus ZenPower Power bank comes in a very compact sized box, and when I received the box from Asus, I never imagined that it contains a Power Bank. In the box, you will find ZenPower Power Bank, USB cable for charging smartphones, tablets and for charging the ZenPower, user manual and warranty card.
The ZenPower has only one slot for charging the smartphone or tablet at any given time. In other words, you can charge only one device at a time. On this Power Bank, 4 LED lights indicators are provided, which indicate the charging status of the Power Bank. If all the four LED Lights blink, it means that the ZenPower is fully charged. One LED light denotes 25% of charging capacity of the PowerBank. If two lights are blinking, you can make out that only 50% capacity of the Power Bank is left out. One button is provided on the left size of the LED lights and by presssing it, you can see the battery capacity of the Powerbank. When any device is being charged, the LED lights also blink.
On ZenPower Power Bank, there is one USB port for charging (inputting) and one USB port for charging the device(up to 2.4A output). It automatically detects when device is connected and start charging. On the bottom of the device, the 10050 mAh is written in big bold letters and the logo of ASUS is on the front size of ZenPower.
The ZenPower Bumper case, which is an optional accessory, has an extra layer of tactile toughness which is soft to touch, scratch and impact resistant and is available in various colours. It is claimed to offer high-speed, high-efficiency charging with up to 2.4A output. Its exclusive PowerSafe Technology also monitors temperature, controls both input and output voltages, and guards against short circuits providing maximum safety while charging. Furthermore, the device is rigorously tested to ensure the best in quality.
The ZenPower Power Bank takes approximately 24 hours to get fully charged if it is fully empty, which is quite normal for such huge capacity Power Bank. The ZenPower has direct competition with Power Banks introduced recently by Mi 10,400mAh bank with single USB for charging for Rs. 999; OnePlus 10,000mAh power bank, which has dual 2A USB ports to charge two devices simultaneously, is priced Rs. 1399; Huawei Honor Power Bank 13000 mAh battery has Dual USB port, and is priced Rs. 1399.
Verdict:
The ZenPower Power Bank is beautifully designed device and is worth the buy, if you can afford to charge one device at a time, which is normally the case with the majority of users. Even, if the ZenPower is plugged to your device for charging, you can easily carry both- ZenPower and your smartphone, as it is very light and elegant design. Its price tag of Rs. 1499 is worth its value and looks.
It was blinking every 5 seconds and even like that it was continually charging but it reflects on my phone charging and then not charging then charging again. What should i do? Is there anything bad effects on my phone?
