Asus Launches ZenFone 4, ZenFone 5 & ZenFone 6 Starting At Rs. 5,999

As expected, Taiwan based tech giant Asus has launched today its ZenFone range of smartphones to cater to budget to mid-range segments in India. The three smartphones launched today at an event in New Delhi are – Asus ZenFone 4, ZenFone 5, and ZenFone 6 priced at Rs. 5999, 9999 and 16999, respectively.


The Asus ZenFone 4 sports a 4-inch WVGA (480×800 pixel) resolution display, and is driven by a 1.2GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2520 processor with Hyper-Threading Technology, coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, which can be expanded upto 64GB via microSD card. This smartphone comes with a 5-megapixel rear and 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. For connectivity options, the ZenFone 4 supports 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and Micro-USB. This device is packed with a 1600mAh battery. This phone comes in Charcoal Black, Pearl White, Cherry Red, Sky Blue, Solar Yellow colors.

Keeping in view of its features and its price of Rs. 5999, the ZenFone 4 will give tough competition to the highly successful Moto E and to various local brands in the same price category.



On the other hand, the Asus ZenFone 5 sports a 5-inch 720×1280 pixel IPS display, and is powered by a 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 processor with Hyper-Threading technology. It is equipped with 2GB of RAM and has two variants of 8GB and 16GB internal storage, which is further expandable upto 64GB. The 8GB variant is priced at Rs. 9,999 and Asus has not disclosed the price of 16GB variant.

The ZenFone 5 also comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front facing camera. It is fuelled by a 2110 mAh battery. It has the same connectivity options as of ZenFone 4. This is available in Champagne Gold, Pearl White, Cherry Red, and Charcoal Black colors.

The ZenFone 5 will compete with another successful Motorola smartphone Moto G.



Finally, the ZenFone 6 phablet comes with almost the same specifications of ZenFone 5 except that its screen size is 6 inches. However, the display resolution, Processor specifications, RAM capacity, Connectivity options are the same as of ZenFone 5. However, the internal storage of ZenFone 6 is 16GB standard and which is further expandable upto 64GB via microSD card. This phablet is equipped with 13MP rear and 8MP front camera. It is fuelled by a 3300 mAh battery. This phone is available in Champagne Gold, Pearl White, Cherry Red, and Charcoal Black colors.

All the Asus ZenFones displays have Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, and support Dual-SIM with Dual Standby. These phone have quad-band feature, which will enable these smartphones to be used worldwide.

The Asus ZenFones run on Android Jelly Bean OS version 4.3, which will be updated to KitKat 4.4, with Asus’s new ZenUI skin supreimposed on it. According to Asus, their UI delivers a holistic user experience with exceptional functionality and sublime simplicity. ZenUI ALSO includes free open messaging, powered by Omlet Chat on the Omlet Open Messaging Platform. This seamless messaging tool allows users to send traditional text (SMS) or picture (MMS) messages to any phone without any charges. The Asus ZEN UI has over 1000 enhancements that make ZenFones easy and seamless to use.

All the ZenFones also incorporate ‘PixelMaster’ camera technology whcih includes Low-Light Mode. With this feature, the images can be captured in low -light conditions also as the camera intelligently adjusts the pixel size to increase light sensitivity by upto 400 percent. You will get bright images and good videos which are snapped or made in low-lights. Besides above, this technology also has features of Selfie Mode for shooting selfies and Depth of Field Mode.

To sum-up, the three Asus ZenFone introduced today in the Indian market and are good value for money. These phones are worth the purchase if you are planning to by budget smartphone or mide-range smartphone with good camera features , hardware and screen sizes specifications. Asus will definitely not disappoint you with their offerings and features.
