Canon has entered into high yield refillable ink tank printer domain globally with the launch of PIXMA G series printers for Home, SME and commercial segments.
For the first time in the history of Canon, the company launched globally four new models in India at an event held today in New Delhi. The four models unveiled today are – G1000, G2000, G2002, G3000 CISS printers. The PIXMA G1000, G2000, G2002 and G3000, are priced Rs. 9595, Rs. 10,990, Rs. 11,900 and Rs. 16,795, respectively. These will be available in India soon.
Canon PIXMA G Series printers use Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle engineering technology to create high-density print heads with microscopic ink droplet sizes. This technology enables the printers to achieve high resolution images with incredible photo-quality. All the printers have 4800×1200 dpi print resolution and 600×1200 dpi scan resolution.
The Canon PIXMA Integrated Hybrid Ink system further optimizes printing which results in vivid and vibrant photographs and sharp text documents. These printers can also print borderless photographs up to A4 size.
The other useful feature of these printers are that the set-up time on these printers is just 6 minutes compared to 20 minutes on competitive printers as claimed by the company.
PIXMA G series features new integrated refillable ink tanks with print yield as high as 6000 pages mono prints and 7000 pages color prints. The printers have individual ink tanks for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black. The replacement ink bottles are priced at only Rs. 499/- per unit. These priners are cost effective as their print cost is as low as INR 0.08 per print for mono prints and INR0.21 per print for color prints.
Canon PIXMA G Series have integrated ink tanks which significantly reduces the width of the printer and provides high visibility of ink to consumers. The ink bottles are designed to minimize potential spills and leaks. The superior quality Continuous Ink Supply System (CISS) used in PIXMA G series ensures a reliable and trouble free high volume printing.
The highlight of the G3000 is that this printer is capable of printing documents and photos from the cloud using a smart device like smartphone and tablet.
All the printers carry one year on-site warranty or 15000 pages, whichever comes first.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Kazutada Kobayashi, President and CEO, Canon India Pvt. Ltd, said, “We are honored to host the global launch of the G series of PIXMA printers here in India today. It is a moment of pride and joy for us. Canon keeps customer experience at the center of all its innovation. So we are happy to give a firsthand experience to our Indian customers. At present in India, the CISS category contributes 28% of inkjet printer sales. Canon is a new entrant into the category but we are excited and bullish about capturing approximately 30% of the CISS market by the end of Dec 2016. With this launch we aim to strengthen our footholds amongst photo centres, copy centres and SOHO.
