Delite Cinema, situated in Daryaganj, becomes the first cinema in the city to install the Dolby Atmos audio systems, for giving immersive experience to cinema lovers. This new technologically advanced audio system was inaugurated and the new English movie The Amazing Spiderman 2, was shown in Dolby Atmos equipped screen.
Dolby Atmos system consists of Dolby processor and JBL speakers and other accessories. Depending upon the size of the theatre, the numbers of speakers are fitted. In Delite Cinema, there are approximately 64 high quality JBL speakers and as informed to Techvorm at the press event, the total cost of installing Dolby Atmos is approximately Rs. 70 lakhs.
Dolby Atmos enhances the sound in storytelling by giving filmmakers the creative freedom to easily place or move sounds anywhere in the movie theatre to create a lifelike, virtual reality of sound. Dolby Atmos was introduced in April 2012, and since then 600 Dolby Atmos screens have been installed or committed to in 40 countries with more than 150 exhibitor partners. More than 100 films from 12 different countries have been or are scheduled to be released with Dolby Atmos sound since the first film debuted in June 2012.
