Of late Chinese handsets makers are becoming aggressive in India. After Lenovo and Gionee which have launched many smartphones in recent times, now it is turn of Oppo to get its fottprint in India. Early in the year, they had launched their premium smartphone Oppo N1 at Rs. 37,990. Now, they have announced the launch of mid-range Oppo R1 smartphone at Rs. 26,990, which is available in black color only.
Oppo R1 sports a 5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, and is powered by a MediaTek MT6582 chipset with a 1.3 GHz Quad-core processor along with 1 GB RAM and 16 GB internal memory. This phone does not have microSD card slot for expanding the internal storage. The Oppo RI runs on ColorOS based on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS.
The key feature of R1 is that it is equipped with an 8MP rear camera a 5MP front camera, both with f/2.0 wide aperture, which is claimed to deliver excellent images even in low light conditions. This phone is packed with a 2,410mAh battery, and measures 142.7 x 70.4 x 7.1. The weight of Oppo R1 is about 140 grams.
Oppo had entered the Indian market in January of this year with the launch of NI. The key feature of Oppo N1 smartphone is its swivel 13MP camera with CMOS sensor and f/2.0 aperture, and is placed on a rotating swivel capable of rotating 206 degree. According to Oppo, the rotation has been tested 100,000 times to prove its sturdiness, and you can swivel it 40 times a day for 7 years.This camera has a dual-mode flash, and is designed to work for front and back shots. This is the first camera on a smartphone, which can be used for front shooting in 13 mega pixels. Normally, the front shooter does not come as high as 13MP.
