Dell, leader in PC and laptops, have launched in India on Tuesday – 22nd November, 2011, the first Windows 7 based tablet under its Latitude series of laptops.
The Latitude PC tablet has following features :
- 10.1″ inch capacitive multi-touch display
- Pen for writing
- 2 GB RAM
- 32 GB storage (upgrade-able to 128 GB)
- 1.5 GHz Intel Atom Z670 processor
- Supports 3G antenna and mobile broadband options
- Skype video conferencing
Dell Latitude has been quoted a starting price of Rs. 36,000 /- in India.
All the tablets run on Android operating system except Apple iPad, which runs on its proprietary operating software iOS 5.0. Dell is the first company to bring out first Windows based tablet in India. Its screen size is same as of other tablets except of HTC, which has 7″ inch screen and iPad 2 has 9.7″ inches screen.
But the main difference between Dell tablet and competitive tablets is operating system. Dell Latitude series tablets are equipped with Windows 7 operating system and the success of it will depend upon ease of operations. Dell, which has tons of experience at its back, will not disappoint with its newly launched tablet with Windows 7 based operating system.
