Samsung has officially unveiled its Galaxy Tab S2, which the company calls it the most immersive tablet to-date courtesy its stunning Super AMOLED Display. It is perfectly optimized for reading and viewing any type of digital content and Samsung further claims that it will recreate the same viewing experience of browsing as of traditional print media.
The Galaxy Tab S2 comes in 8 inch and 9.7 inches Super AMOLED display variants with resolution of 2048×1536 and runs on Android Lollipop 5.0 OS.
The other USP of Galaxy Tab S2 is that it is the thinnest and lightest tablet from the stable of Samsung. It has thickness of 5.6mm and weighs only 389grams ( for 9.7 -inch display) and 265grams (for 8.0 -inch display).
Both the variants of Galaxy Tab S2 are powered by a 1.9GHz and a 1.3GHz quad-core processor coupled with 3GB RAM and internal storage of 32/64GB with provision of extending it further upto 128GB via microSD card. Both the models are equipped with 8MP rear and 2.1MP front cameras. The 8 inch variant is packed with 4000mAh battery whereas the 9.7 inch model gets its juice from 5870mAh battery.
For connectivity, the Galaxy Tab S2 offers options of LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac MIMO (2.4GHz/5GHz), Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth4.1,GPS, GLONASS etc. It has dimensions of 169 x 237.3 x 5.6mm (9.7 inch model ) and 134.8 x 198.6 x 5.6mm for 8 inch model.
The Galaxy Tab S2 comes with a touch-enabled Fingerprint Scanner provided on the home key for hassle-free authentication. It also features Smart Manager which displays the device’s settings automatically, including battery power levels, storage and RAM availability for users to efficiently manage their devices. It is also pre-installed with anti-malware for an extra layer of protection.

Samsung has not revealed the price of Galaxy Tab S2. It will be announced when it is made available in the month of August. This tablet will compete with Apple’s iPad Air 2.
