LG has announced today that it will be launching its upgraded mid-range 3G smartphone – LG Bello II, which is the succcessor of last year’s L Bello. In India, Mexico and CIS countries, this phone will be known as LG Max and LG Prime II in Brazil and Chile.
LG Max or LG Prime II or LG Bello II has similar hardware specifications except that it now houses a 5MP front camera compared to 1MP front shooter of L Bello. This new variant will arrive in key markets in Latin America and India this month, to be followed by rollouts in Europe and CIS throughout the third quarter.
LG Max will run on Android Lollipop 5.1.1 OS and will support Dual-SIM in India.

Like L Bello, LG Max also derives proprietary features of LG’s flagship G series of smartphones such as Gesture Shot and Selfie Flash. Gesture Shot enables users to take selfies without pressing any buttons -perfect for selfie sticks – by simply opening and closing a hand in front of the camera. And Selfie Flash turns the phone’s display into a soft flash for portraits that are more subtle and refined.
“The LG Bello II brings unprecedented value to 3G markets, which still account for a significant 40 percent of smartphone markets,” said Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “With its 5MP selfie camera, large display and familiar features, the LG Bello II is a great balance of form, function and price, which is why we expect to be even more successful than its predecessor.”
LG will announce the price of this device close on the heels of its availability in India.
