Google has expanded its Pixel family and unveiled Pixel C convertible tablet running on its latest Android Marshmallow OS. It comess with an optional full-size keyboard for heavy typing work. The tablet and keyboard attach magnetically and its is very easy to switch between typing and using the touch screen of the tablet. This tablet is made end-to-end by Google itself, which boasts of few unique features not seen on other tabelts.
The design of this tablet has been borrowed from Chromebook Pixel as the Pixel C has the same aluminum design.
The Pixel C features a 10.2 inch IPS display with a resolution of 2560×1800 and is driven by Nvidia X1 quad-core processor and 3GB of RAM. This tablet incorporates USB Type-C for faster charging. The Pixel C will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and according to Google, they will roll out software updates every 6 weeks. Google has not shared the detailed specifications of this tablet.
The most electrifying feature of Pixel C tabelt is its full size keyboard which do not require any kickstand. The keybaord can be adjusted between 100 to 135 degrees. As explained by Google, its cover attaches to the tablet magnetically. It can be placed on the front to make it look like a folded laptop, or put on the back if you want to hide it. The keyboard connects via Bluetooth and the keyboard does not require recharging as the small internal battery of keyboard is charged by the tablet itself, which is also a novel feature.
The Pixel C will start at $499 for 32GB, and $599 for 64GB variants. The price of optional Keyboard is $149. This tablet will be available in time for the holidays on the Google Store in select countries.
