HTC India is organising an event in New Delhi on 23rd September, for which we have received invite. It is expected that HTC will launch its mid-range smartphone- HTC Desire 820, which was unveiled at the recently concluded IFA in Berlin. Although, HTC has not even given any hint in the invitation about the upcoming device, yet we can assume that the latest Desire 820, which has received rave reviews in IFA, will start selling shortly in India, to take advantage of the upcoming festival season.
Just to remind our valauble readers, HTC Desire 820 has bagged the award for “Best of Show” smartphone by Android Authoriy in IFA.
HTC Desire 820 is premium-mid range smartphone, which is the successor to the popular HTC Desire 816. It features a 5.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixel) displays and an 8MP front-facing camera and a rear 13MP camrea with BSI sensor and f/2.2 aperture, which is claimed to capture quality images in both daylight and low light. It also incorporates Face Fusion software, which allows you to merge your features with those of a friend or celebrity for a completely original look; real time Live Makeup, which allows you to preview the image and set the desired level of skin smoothing before the image is captured and Photo Booth, where you can capture several moments in a single image.
The Desire 820 is driven by Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 ( 1.5 GHz, Octa-Core CPUs & 1.0 GHz, Octa-Core CPUs) coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage which can be extended upto 128GB via microSD card. It is packed with 2600mAh battery and measures 157.7 x 78.74 x 7.74 mm. It has weight of 155 grams. This smartphone runs on Android KitKat 4.4 OS with HTC Sense on top of it.
For connectivity, the Desire 820 offers options of 3.5 mm stereo audio jack, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi: IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n (2.4 & 5 GHz) DLNA and micro-USB 2.0 (5-pin) port.
With the Snapdragon 615 processor, the HTC Desire 820 claims to offer 4G connectivity at speeds of up to 150mbps. This smartphone also has front-facing stereo speakers and two powerful, dedicated amplifiers of HTC BoomSound.
The HTC 820 has unibody design, and the polycarbonate device is not only stylish but also boasts the excellent build quality. It will be available in Marble White, Tuxedo Grey, Santorini White and Milky-way Grey color variants.
Any guess about this smartphone price? Our speculation is that HTC Desire will be priced in the range of Rs. 25,000.
