HTC U Ultra, U Play Launched With Sense Companion – Artificial Intelligence

HTC has introduced its new U series and launched two flagship phones – the U Ultra and the U Play. Both the HTC U Ultra and HTC U Play incorporate the company’s new Sense Companion, an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based system that  learns the user’s working patterns and offer intelligent suggestions.

Both the phones support Dual-SIM and run on Android 7.0 Nougat OS with the HTC’s Sense UI customisation on top. Both the phones will be available in Ice White, Brilliant Black, Cosmetic Pink, Sapphire Blue colors.

HTC U Ultra features a dual display like the LG V20. It has main display of 5.7-inch Super QHD LCD with a resolution of 1440×2560 pixels and the secondary 2-inch display comes with a 1040×160 pixels resolution. It will be available in two inbuilt storage variants – 64GB with Gorilla Glass 5 protection and 128GB with Sapphire Glass protection. The internal storage can be expanded upto 2TB with microSD card. It is powered by Quad-Core Snapdragon 821 64-bit processor with Adreno 530 GPU clubbed with 4GB RAM.

On the optics front, the U Ultra is mounted with 12-UltraPixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, 1.55um pixels, f/1.8 aperture, Laser Auto focus, Optical Image Stabilisation and 4K video recording capability. For selfies, it is equipped with 16MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture, BSI sensor and an UltraPixel mode.

It is packed with a 3000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support and is rated to deliver 26 hours of talk-time and up to 13 days of standby time. It also comes with fingerprint scanner embedded on the home buttton.

This phone also boasts of BoomSound Hi-Fi edition stereo speakers, Hi-Res Audio support, and 3D Audio recording support with 4 microphones. For connectivity, it provides options of 4G LTE with VoLTE, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth v4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, NFC, DLNA, Miracast, HTC Connect, and USB 3.1 Type-C.

This phone has dimensions of 162.41 x 79.79 x 3.6-7.99mm and its weight is 170g.

HTC U Play sports a 5.2inch (1920 x 1080 pixels resolution) Full HD Super LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It is powered by Octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor. It comes in two variants of 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB of internal storage which can be further extended up to 2TB with microSD card.

The U Play is equipped with 16MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, BSI sensor, Optical Image Stabilisation and PDAF. It has16MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture, 28mm lens and UltraPixel .

This phone comes with 2500mAh battery with fast charging and also has  a fingerprint sensor on the Home Button. It offers connectivity options of 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS with GLONASS, NFC, USB 2.0 Type-C. It has dimensions of 145.99 x 72.9 x 3.5-7.99mm and weighs 145g.

HTC has not revealed the prices of these two phones but are expected to be in the range of Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 62,000. They are expected to be launched in India in the month of March.
