After unveiling of Windows 8 smartphones by Samsung,Nokia and HTC, it is now turn of Huawei of China to come out with Windows 8 smartphones. The rumor mills have started churning out various stories about probable models of Huawei that will surface in the coming trade events in CES in Las Vegas and in MWC in Barcelona, in early 2013.
As per unconfirmed reports, Huawei is working on Windows 8 phone to be named most probably Ascend WI and it is expected to feature a 4-inch WVGA display, 5-megapixel rear camera, VGA front-facing camera, a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 512 MB RAM, 4 GB internal memory, and a 2,000 mAh battery. This will be entry level Windows 8 phone by Huawei and is going to be priced in the range of US$ 200.
The other Windows 8 model that Huawei is expected to showcase would be its flagship model and will be named Ascend W2 or W3. This hig-end phone may sport 4.5″ inch HD display, 8 MP rear camera with dual LED flash, dual-core processor and will be LTE capable. Rest of its features have not been reported so far.
Although, many analysts and bloggers are speculating about probable features of Huawei’s upcoming Windows 8 phones, one thing is clear that Huawei will definitely showcase entry-level and high-end or maybe mid-segment Windows 8 phones in the upcoming trade events, to compete with HTC, Samsung and Nokia in this segment. Huawei’s intentions are very clear; they want to be counted among the first smartphones makers to introduce Windows 8 phones.
In 2013, there is going to be tough competition for getting maximum space for Windows 8 phones. It is expected that Windows 8 phones will be dominated by Nokia with its Lumia 920 and 820, and who will get the second and third spot, will be known when all the vendors unleash their devices in the world markets.
