South Korean carmaker today globally launched its much-awaited Creta SUV at an event held in New Delhi. This compact SUV is available in 10 variants across 4 trim levels. Hyundai Creta’s price starts at Rs. 8.59 lakh and goes upto Rs. 13.60 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) depending upon the variants. This launch of Creta is an attempt by Hyundai to take consderable share in fast emerging affordable SUV segment in India, which currently is dominated by Renault Duster, Ford Ecosport, Nissan Terrano, Mahindra Scorpio etc. And upcoming S-Cross of Maruti-Sazuki will also be the immediate competitor of Hyundai’s Creta.

Hyundai Creta comes in three engine options namely 1.4-litre CRDi diesel, 1.6-litre CRDi diesel and 1.6-litre VTVT petrol. The 1.4-litre diesel and 1.6-litre petrol models are equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox, the 1.6-litre diesel has a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed automatic transmission. Creta is the only SUV in mid-segment which has automatic transmission in diesel variant.
The engines of the Creta are the same as of the highly-acclaimed Verna of Hyundai, which has been well-accepted, tried and tested by Indian users. Creta is designed with strong ‘Hive structure’ body shell that denotes high structural strength stability and sturdiness.
The looks of Creta SUV are vey impressive from all angles and its built has been derived from the Hyundai’s Santa Fe SUV in the upper segment. This SUV comes with following exterior features :
