Hyundai Unveils Compact Xcent Sedan In India

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) today unveiled its highly anticipated compact sedan “Xcent”.  This is Hyundai’s entry into the compact sedan segment in the Indian auto industry, and its Xcent will challenge the most popular compact sedans in India – Dzire by Maruti Sazuki and Amazer by Honda Motors.


The Xcent will be available in Petrol and Diesel engines, and in manual and automatic transmission variants.. The engines have been tuned for optimum performance and fuel efficiency.


The Xcent has attractive exterior and some of its features are :

  • Swept back smoked headlamps and wrap-around tail lamps with chrome insert
  •  Chrome finish hexagonal air dam
  • Steeply raked windshield
  • Wide daylight opening area
  • Front bumper with integrated spoiler design
  • Sporty dual tone rear bumper with stylish reflectors
  • Diamond cut alloy wheels and classy chrome door handles
  • Stylish and aerodynamic kick-up trunk lid design with chrome garnish

The interior of the Xcent give it premium look and its key highlights are:

  •  Bright dual tone beige and black interiors with high quality plastic
  • Premium designed dashboard integrated with hexagonal outlined audio
  • Spacious legroom and headroom in front and rear

  • Multiple storage options in door trims and centre console

According to HMIL,the Xcent will be available in India in the month of  March this year. This new model is among the four new models that the company plans to launch in the next two years, including a compact sports utility vehicle popularly known as SUV.

The compact sedan segment is currently one of the fastest growing segments in Indian auto market beacuse of the price and desing factors. .Yesterday, Tata Motors and Ford also unveiled ZEST and FIGO CONCEPT sedans, respectively,  to cater to the highly growing segment in India.
