Lava Attempts To Create World Record With Its Iris X5 Selfie Feature

LAVA International, the leading Indian handsets maker, has attempted yesterday to include its latest Lava Iris X5 smrtphone for its selfie feature in GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS. At the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi Annual Festival, Rendezvous, 816 students participated in the rally of clicking selfies by LAVA Iris X5. More than 800 selfies were clicked at the IIT Delhi campus.

All the selfies were clicked by Lava Iris X5, a smartphone recently launched by Lava and positioned as ‘made for selfies’.The key features of Lava Iris X5 is its 5.0 MP BSI+ Auto Focus Front Shooter with LED Flash. This front shooter is claimed by the company to be ideal for low-light imaging that enables clicking perfect selfies with extraordinary detailing at any given time of the day. It also has a wide-viewing angle shot which allows users to capture pictures up to 84 degree with the front camera. In addition to this, the phone is equipped with an 8 MP Auto-Focus rear camera.

LAVA-Iris-X5-Gret-color-side-1The Iris X5 runs on Android KitKat 4.4.2 OS, and sports a 5 inch HD (1280 x 720) IPS Display with Full lamination. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz Quad Core Processor, coupled with 1GB of RAM & 8GB ROM, which is expandable up to 32GB via micro-SD card. It is fuelled by a 2100mAh battery.

Lava has stated in its press release that they have worked with IIT Delhi event team over the last few days to ensure that all guidelines specified by the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS are met. Participants were invited through pre-registration. Each selfie included two adjacent people in the line. External agencies were brought on board by Lava to ensure the activity is streamlined, LAVA will be sharing all the video footage and other supporting materials with GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS.

Lava’s partnership with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), India’s leading technology institute, is a part of its ongoing engagement program to connect with the youth.
