Lava Iris 504Q+ Starts Getting Android KitKat 4.4.2 Update

LAVA International has announced Android 4.4.2 KitKat update over FOTA (Firmware- over-the-Air) for LAVA Iris 504Q+ smartphone. Lava Iris 504Q+ was launched in the month of April, and which is the successor to the highly successful Iris 504Q.

On tapping the notification, the user will be guided through the upgrade download and installation process. Alternatively, the users can download and install manually through “Check Update” functionality that can be found in Settings-> About Phone->System Updates. The update will be downloaded on the memory card only and the user needs to have memory card inserted in the smartphone while installing. After installation, the Android KitKat software can run with or without memory card in smartphone.

The updated LAVA Iris 504Q+ shall offer an improved user experience through an enhanced user interface, superior battery life and software performance. A new dialer app has also been introduced in thef Android KitKat,  which lets users to automatically prioritize contacts according to the most frequently dialed numbers in the phone book. Whenever a user gets a call from an unknown number, the phone will look for matches from businesses with a local listing on Google Maps.

The key feature of Iris 504Q+ is its 10 MP rear autofocus camera with Sony Exmor RS Sensor having sensor size of 1/3.2 inch, which is capable of allowing enhanced lowlight performance. The Iris 504Q+ features a 5 inch IPS screen having resolution of 1280×720 pixels with OGS display technology. The Iris 504Q+ comes with a scratch-resistant and tough Asahi Dragontrail glass, which is claimed to be six times stronger than normal glass used conventionally. The display comes with full lamination that eliminates air gaps between LCD and glass making it look perfectly black in sleep mode. This smartphone is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor along-with Mali 400 MP2 @500MHz Graphics Unit, coupled with 1GB RAM and an internal memory of 8GB, which is expandable up to 32GB via micro-SD card.

The Iris 504Q+ has a metallic back cover and is Dual SIM phone, which offers dual standby capability. It is packed with a 2000mAh battery.

The Lava Iris 504Q+ is priced at Rs. 11,900 and available in Grey and Silver colours. This smartphone comes with a flip cover that puts the phone automatically in sleep mode ensuring reduced battery consumption.
