Lenovo has unveiled many products at IFA 2015 and one among them is VIBE S1. The USP of this smartphone is its two front cameras for selfie crazy audience. According to Lenovo, selfies are the most popular type of photos snapped on a smartphone. Over a million selfies are taken a day and 48% of that are shared on Facebook alone.
The VIBE S1 will be available starting in November starting at $299. It will be available in two color options: Pearl White and Midnight Blue.
The VIBE S1 is unique because of its dual selfie cameras – the 8MP primary front camera and a 2MP secondary front camera ”analyzes depth of field information to replicate human binocular vision. These two cameras work in tandem to unleash a myriad of new possibilities that can give selfies a creative twist”.
According to Lenovo, the front cameras allow various options to modify the selfie by selecting from a number of built-in photo editing tools such as ‘Blur’, which allows refocusing anywhere on the seflie (up to 3 focal plains) or adding a ‘bokeh’ effect to the background to stylize a selfie or simply to get rid of a photo bomber. With ‘Cut Out’, people can be cropped out of a selfie and then placed on any other image (from a wide selection preloaded on the VIBE S1 or downloaded from the internet), and even on a photo taken with the rear camera of the VIBE S1 smartphone. No matter where the selfie is taken, the person in it can be cut out and placed in front of the Eifel Tower or the Taj Mahal for instance.
The VIBE S1 also houses 13MP rear camera which boasts of phase-detection autofocus, dual-color flash which optimizes color tones based on ambient lighting.
This smartphone features a 5.0-inch FHD (1920X1080) IPS display and is powered by a 64-bit quad-core MediaTek (MT6752) 1.7GHz Octa-Core processor coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage extendable to 128GB via microSD card. It runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. It is packed with 2500mAh battery.
For connectivity, the VIBE S1 offers options of Dual-SIM, 4G LTE, 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS. It has dimensions of 143.3×70.8×7.8 mm and its weight is 132grams.
