Alongside G3 premium smartphone launch in Mumbai, LG also introduced its LG G smartwatch at Rs. 15,000. This is the first smartwatch which will be powered by Android Wear, Google’s new operating system for wearable devices. This smartwatch is comaptible with all smartphones running Android 4.3 OS and above. LG is offering discount of Rs. 5,000 if this watch is bought alongwith G3 smartphone.
This is LG’s fourth device developed in close collaboration with Google following the Nexus 4, Nexus 5, and the LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition.
The LG G Watch has button-less design and features a Always-On 1.65-inch IPS display, and is driven by Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, coupled with 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage.
The G Watch has an intuitive touch-based user interface, and its Always-On screen makes it possible to see the time with a quick glance. This smartwatch is connected via Bluetooth with Android smartphones. The LG G Watch displays messages, shows who’s calling, controls music playback and there is no need to access your smartphone for these activities. On this watch, the users can also send text messages and search for useful information just by saying, “Ok Google.”
The LG G Watch is designed to be protected from dust and water resistant for up to 30 minutes to a depth of one meter. The LG G Watch will be available in two colors- Black Titan and White Gold and is made of PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coated stainless steel with a rugged silicone wristband in matching color. The LG G Watch can be personalized with any standard 22mm strap available in the market.
