At an event in New Delhi, LG has launched today K series of smartphones comprising of K10 and K7. The new mid-segmented K series of smartphones incorporate advanced camera technology and UX features of LG’s premium models. LG K7 is priced Rs. 9,500 whereas K10 has a price tag of Rs. 13,500. Both the phones will be made in India by LG. These phones were first unveiled in January at CES 2016 in Las Vegas.
At the launch, Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, Union Minister, Communications and IT, Government of India, said, “The Indian digital ecosystem will be a $1trillion economy in the next 5 years with $400bn contribution from smartphones and electronics manufacturing, 350Bn from IT&ITES enables services and $250Bn from Communications services. LG is a large global brand name and we are very excited that they have chosen to manufacture mobile handsets from India. With LG smartphones consumers will have access to governance, information and knowledge in the hands.”
These two phones have glossy pebble design and stylish look with a curved, modern finish. The glossy pebble design is complemented by LG’s new 2.5D Arc Glass for a smooth and seamless style that could only be made possible due to the sides of K Series smartphones being free of button clutter. The home button has been given on the back behind the camera. The back cover of these phones feature an intricate woven pattern for optimal grip.
These phones boast of LG’s popular Gesture Shot and Gesture Interval Shot for taking selfies easily and without any hassles. Gesture Shot enables users to take photos simply by raising an open hand in front of the lens and then clenching it into a fist. Closing one’s hand twice automatically leads to the Gesture Interval Shot and will produce four consecutive photos. Both devices are equipped with Flash for Selfie on the front to help users capture images even in the dark.
