LG Nexus 5X Launched Starting At $379

As expected, Google has officially unveiled today two new Nexus smartphones – LG Nexus 5X made by South Korean giant LG Electronics and Huawei Nexus 6P. Both the phones run the latest Android Marshmallow OS version. This is the first time that Google has taken Huawei of China on board to make Nexus device.


The LG Nexus 5X has the same design form factor as of Nexus 5 with small tweaks and comes in plastic casing. LG Nexus 5X will be available in Black, white and ‘icy blue’ On the other hand, Huawei Nexus 6P is all metal device and has been designed as per today’s trend.

The LG Nexus 5X sports a 5.2-inch (1080 x 1920 resolution) LCD  screen with a pixel density of 423.64. It is powered by Snapdragon 808 processor, clocked at 2GHz, coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB/32 GB internal storage options. The price of 16GB variant is $379 whereas the 32GB variant is priced $429. This phone gets its juice from 2,700mAh battery.

The Nexus 5X incorporates Imprint fingerprint sensor and USB Type-C charger. According to Google, the Nexus Imprint is capable of recognizing your fingerprint in less than 600ms. With USB Type-C charger, the Nexus will charge very quickly.


The Nexus 5X is equipped with a 12.3MP f/2.0 Sony Sensor having a Dual LED flash and IR autofocus system. This camera is capable of 4K video shooting.


Google has also annoucned few freebies and offers on purchase of new Nexus device. The LG Nexus 5X comes with 90 days free subscription to Google Music. Google has also announced Nexus Protect extended warranty option which covers the device for 2 years at a cost of $69.

The LG Nexus 5X will ship in October and pre-order begins on the Google Store in U.S., U.K., Ireland and Japan. In the U.S., pre-orders include a $50 Play credit to help you stock up your favorite music, apps, games and shows.Other countries will get new Nexus 5X in the coming weeks. There is no word when India will get this device but we expect that it will be most probably by the end of next month.
