Google has also launched its premium Nexus device this year made by Huawei of China. This is the first time that Huawei has made Nexus device. The Nexus 6P has been designed keeping in view of current trend of metal casing. The Nexus 6P has metal unibody design to give its an elegant look.
This phones has aluminum chassis and comes in four anodized finishes: Aluminum, Gprahite, Frost, and a Japan-exlusive gold. Despite its large display, this phone is still 7.3mm thin.
This phone also boasts of powerful hardware features. The Huawei Nexus 6P flaunts a 5.7-inch QHD AMOLED display having a pixel density of 515ppi with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. Under the hood is Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor, Adreno 430 GPU combined with 3GB RAM and storage options of 32GB, 64GB and 128GB.
The 12.3MP rear camera of this phone has a Dual-LED flash with optical image stabilization and 4K video recording and slow motion video recording capability. It also houses an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. This phone gets its juice from 3,450mAh non-removable battery.
The Nexus 6P also incorporates Imprint fingerprint sensor and USB Type-C charger. According to Google, the Nexus Imprint is capable of recognizing your fingerprint in less than 600ms and USB Type-C charger has fast charging feature. It runs on latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box.
The Huawei Nexus 6P also comes with a new Android Sensor Hub, which is claimed to be capable of activating the ambient display when you pick up the phone.
Google has also annoucned few freebies and offers on purchase of new Nexus device. The Nexus 6P comes with 90 days free subscription to Google Music. Google has also announced Nexus Protect extended warranty option which covers the device for 2 years at a cost of $89.
The Huawei Nexus 6P will ship in October and pre-order begins on the Google Store in U.S., U.K., Ireland and Japan. In the U.S., pre-orders include a $50 Play credit to help you stock up your favorite music, apps, games and shows. Other countries will get new Nexus 6P in the coming weeks. There is no word when India will get this device but we expect that it will be most probably by the end of next month.
The Nexus 6P is priced $499, $549 and $649 for the 32GB, 64GB and 128GB variants, respectively.
