Micromax Canvas HD A116 Review And Un-boxing Video

Design Factor

Micromax Canvas HD A116 has a 5” inch display. The front-facing camera is at the right side of the earpiece. Right below the display there are capacitive touch buttons viz. menu, home and back.

The rear panel has pearl white finish plastic with glossy pixie dust. There’s also 8MP protruding camera (could get scratched easily) along with single LED flash. It also has the speaker grill at the bottom of the rear panel.

On the sidelines there is power and volume rocker button on either side of the handset. The headphone jack and micro USB ports take the usual position i.e on the top.
Coming at measurements of 144x74x10.7 mm, the device is certainly (and arguably) pocketable. The handset weighs a mere 156 grams. With these dimensions Canvas HD A116 is most certainly comfortable to use and carry.

Performance

Micromax A116 Canvas HD comes with 5” inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels and out of the box with Jelly Bean Android version 4.1. In terms of manufacturer customization, Micromax hasn’t added much of in-house features, keeping it to bare minimum. This essentially lets user experience the true android stock version.

In terms of gaming performance and general video rendering, the device is duly equipped to run extremely graphic and processor intensive games i.e 1GB Ram, 1.2Ghz Quad Core MediaTek processor.

Unfortunately it’s the inbuilt storage which is a huge let down with only 1.7 GB of free usable storage.

During my day to day use the device performed smoothly while launching apps, transition between the apps, playing graphics intensive games and webpages scrolling. Not to comment on android’s in built multi-tasking capabilities, I could easily run 6-7 apps simultaneously and did not experience any lag to speak of.
