Microsoft India has launched today mid-ange Lumia 540 smartphone at an event held in New Delhi. The Lumia 540 is priced at Rs. 10,199 and will be available in four color varaints- Cyan, Orange, Black, White. The Lumia 540 runs on Windows 8.1 with Lumia Denim, and will be upgraded to Windows 10 when the service becomes available later this year.
From the hardware perspective, the Lumia 540 comes with mediocre features. It features a 5-inch HD display(1280 x 720 pixels, 294 PPI), and is driven by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor, coupled with 1 GB RAM and 8GB internal storage which is expandable to 128GB via microSD card. Moreover, it comes with 30GB of free cloud storage with built-in OneDrive.
The Lumia 540 is equipped with an 8 MP auto focus rear camera with 2x zoom and LED flash, and 5 MP wide-angle front camera.
The Lumia 540 is packed with 2200 mAh removable battery. It has dimensions of 144 x 73.69 x 9.35 mm, and its weight is 152 grams. For connectivity, it offers options of 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS etc.
The Lumia 540 Dual SIM comes pre-loaded with Microsoft services including Microsoft’s Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote), Outlook, Skype and OneDrive, and plethora of other apps are available at Windows Phone Store.
To sweeten the offer, Microsoft is throwing lot of goodies with Lumia 540. On every purchase of the new Lumia 540, Airtel will offer consumers double the data free for a period of 2 months. The other exciting offer comes from online wallet, Paytm, which will offer a cashback worth INR 1000 on recharges made via the Paytm app (Rs. 200 off every month for 5 months).
