At an event in New Delhi, Toyota Kirloskar has launched today new Fortuner for the Indian market. The New Toyota Fortuner comes with petrol and diesel engine options so that in the case of diesel vehicles getting banned for sometimes due to heavy pollution factor in Delhi NCR, the company does not loose on this situation.
The new Fortuner has tough, cool design and comes in six variants of petrol and diesel in the price range of Rs. 25, 92,000 and Rs. 31, 12,000 ex-Delhi. The booking and delivery of this has started from today across all Toyota dealerships across the country. The new Fortuner is also available in two new colors- Phantom Brown and Avant Garde Bronze besides the existing five colours- Super White, Attitude Black, Grey, Silver Metallic & Pearl White.
The New Fortuner comes with a new 2.8 L diesel engine with an All-New 6-Speed Automatic Transmission with sequential & paddle shifters with performance of 177 PS and 450 Nm torque for the 2.8 L 6 speed automatic transmission. It is also available with a refined 2.7 L petrol engine generating a performance of 166 PS & 245 Nm.
The new Fortuner comes with newly developed frame structure that delivers exceptional torsional & bending rigidity even in the harshest environments and also has new suspension. It has features of new Hill Start Assist Control (HAC) & Downhill Assist Control (DAC) and electronic drive control.
On the safety front, the new Fortuner has impact absorbing structure with pedestrian protection support, 4 Wheel Disc Brakes with Antilock Braking System (ABS), 7 SRS airbags, vehicle stability control (VSC), speed auto lock with emergency unlock and WIL-Safe (Whiplash Injury Lessening) front seats etc.
On the exterior style front, this new Fortuner looks quite attractive thanks to its urban alloy designs (17” & 18”), auto Bi-beam LED with DRLs, LED rear combination lamps with aerofins and chromium finished surround window beltline. It has smart entry with push start and fully automatic power back door with height adjust memory & jam protection.
The interior of new Fortuner has been updated to give it a feel of its expensive Land Cruiser. The new variant boasts of soft upholstery, dark brown interiors, LED coordinated cabin lights, metallic accents & wood-grain patterned ornamentation. It has 7 inch tablet inspired TFT multi-info display infotainment with navigation. It has tilt & telescopic steering column and park assist with back monitor & rear sensors.
