HMD Global has announced launch of Nokia 7.1 mid-range Android One smartphone in India. The USP of this phone is its PureDisplay screen technology for HDR cinematic quality and superior viewing experience. It also boasts of advanced imaging with ZEISS Optics.
This phone flaunts a 5.84 inch (2244 x 1080 pixels) Full HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 19:9 aspect ratio and protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It has Notch design. Its display supports HDR10 and is claimed to deliver higher contrast (1,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio) and greater clarity; revealing the detail in both light and dark areas as well as vibrant colours. The display adapts to outdoors in bright sunlight or in a dimly lit room and will automatically adjust brightness and contrast to ambient lighting conditions.
This phone is powered by 1.8GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 636 processor with Adreno 509 GPU. It comes with 4GB LPPDDR4x RAM with 64GB of internal storage, which can be further extended upto 400GB with microSD card. This is Dual SIM phone and is packed with 3060mAh battery with USB Type-C fast charging which is claimed to charge 50% of battery in 30 minutes.
On the optics front, this phone is armed with ZEISS Optics 12MP/5MP dual primary with two phase detection for fast accurate autofocus and capturing shots in both bright and low light conditions. The primary 12MP (RGB) camera has dual LED flash, f/1.8 aperture and secondary 5MP (Monochrome) camera comes with f/2.4 aperture. For selfies, it is equipped with 8MP AI enhanced front facing camera with f/2.0 aperture, 84-degree FOV.
This phone will receive three years of monthly security patches as guaranteed in the Android One programme. It runs on Android One based on Android 9 Pie.
For security, this phone also incorporates face recognition feature and fingerprint sensor. It offers connectivity options of Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5, NFCC, GPS + GLONASS and USB Type-C 2.0.
The Nokia 7.1 comes in Gloss Midnight Blue and Gloss Steel and is priced Rs. 19,999. It will be available from 7th December at mobile retailers across India and on Nokia.com/phones.
