There are situations when you feel the need to know the exact time your mobile phone’s battery is going to last. Moreover since the battery indicator doesn’t always show the right amount of available battery (I have seen sudden drops in battery levels on my Nokia 5230, 5233 and N97 mini), the need is even greater! Considering this need, Nokia has released a dedicated app for this problem. Nokia Battery Monitor does the task of estimating the amount of battery remaining as well as keeping a track record of usage of the battery. Adding to all this, Nokia Battery Monitor shows the maximum talk time, web browsing time and music playback your mobile is capable of delivering with the available battery. Plus everything is shown nicely in statistical manner.
I really found this application useful especially the home-screen widget for Nokia N97 mini. The only possible improvement area’s are:
- Ability to the available battery while charging (Currently it shows “Charging”).
- Set the “Allow application to access data” to Yes once in for all (It asks on each application load).
- One installation file (Another app called NBM Installer & NBM Service are installed as well!).
The installation size of Nokia Battery Monitor is 444 KB (Tested on Nokia 5230) and along with the core app Nokia NBM Installer as well as Nokia NBM Service are installed as well on Phone Memory (taking up 300 KB). Nokia Battery Monitor is available for all Symbian^1 (S60 v5) and Symbian^3 touch mobile phones. You can download the latest version of Nokia Battery Monitor via ovi store using this link.
