Finnish handset maker Nokia which has pinned all its hopes for revival of their fortunes on Microsoft’s Windows 8 mobile OS, has started rolling out its flagship Lumia 920 and mid-range Lumia 820, in France and UK, followed by Russia and Germany later this week.
The Lumia 920 is Nokia’s flagship Windows Phone 8 smartphone. It comes with dual-core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 CPU, 4.5″ inch PureMotion HD+ display, Wireless charging support and 2000 mAh battery. Nokia Lumia 820, which is a mid-range Windows Phone 8 smartphone features a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm S4 dual-core processor, 4.3-inch Clearblack display, 8 GB of internal storage and an 8-megapixel rear camera.
“After seeing the enthusiastic response to the incredible innovation in the Nokia Lumia 920 and Nokia Lumia 820, we’re eager for people to start experiencing the phones for themselves,” said Jo Harlow, executive vice president, Nokia Smart Devices. “We are focusing our efforts on working with partners who recognize the value of that innovation, and who are committed to helping Lumia and the Windows Phone platform breakthrough in key markets around the world.”
Nokia has not announced yet exact date of arrival of Lumia 920 and 820 in India. But keeping in view of the fact that India is one of the successful market for Nokia and the ensuing Diwali festival when the majority of people are on shopping spree, Nokia can’t ignore these realities and logically, they would be bringing their much-awaited two new devices to India in the first week of November. They would definitely want to make killing in the holiday season. Moreover, the other vendors like Apple are intoducing their iPhone 5 on 2nd November and Google may also introduce its newly launched Nexus 4 smartphone before Diwali in India.
This Diwali will be full of smartphone crackers and let us see which company gets the maximum Lakshmi (sales money) during this festival! Happy Diwali to Nokia!
thanks for your information

Thanks for your update. This is the inherent problem of Nokia that they are late comers. It is ironical that Nokia has closer association with Microsoft and they should be the first company to come out with Windows 8 phones, but on the contrary HTC has taken the lead to release their smartphones on Windows 8.Good luck to Nokia whose future depends upon Lumia 920 & 820!
I just had Long Distance Call with the Nokia Care Centre Expert from Jaipur, Rajasthan, he confirmed me that Nokia Lumia 920 & 820 will not be released in India this Year, it will be released Next Year in Januray. He Explained me that he has already got the Quarterly List of Gadgets which are going to be released by Nokia for Q4, & it does not Include any other Phone from Lumia Series, as the latest Phone has already been released in Lumia series which is Nokia Lumia 510.
There are no plans for release of any other Nokia Lumia device this year…… SAD, Nokia just lost 1 customer.. Now going on my way to buy HTC Windows Phone 8X !
This is confirmed, you can call Nokia All of India Call centre or do a Live Chat on Support & you will get the same Reply !
