We had mentioned in our article of 5th August that Oppo NI Mini would debut in India within one week citing Facebook posting of the company. We have just received media invite from Oppo Mobiles for the launch event of N1 which is scheduled for 11th August in New Delhi.
The hardware features of NI Mini are already known and the curiosity for this smartphone is about its price for the Indian market, which should be very attractive to meet the stilff challenge posed by the late entrant Xiaomi with its Mi3 smartphone, which so far is selling like hot cakes.
The key feature of Oppo N1 Mini is its 13MP swivel camera with an LED flash, which doubles as a rear and front camera. This was the hallmark of the premium N1 smartphone, which was introduced in India in Janaury, 2014. This camera is capable of shooting 24MP photos in the Ultra HD mode.
The NI Mini sport a 5-inch display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution and is powered by a 1.6GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor, coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage with no expandable storage support. The N1 Mini runs Oppo’s proprietary Color OS 1.4, which is based on Android Jelly Bean OS 4.3. The connectivity options include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 4G LTE and 3G. This smartphone is fuelled by a 2140mAh battery. It has thickness of 9.2mm and weighs 150 grams.
