Chinese brand Oppo is launching in India their new series Reno in India on 28th May. They have sent us media invite for the same and we shall be covering the launch event. You may recall that Oppo Reno was launched in China few weeks ago in three varaints – Oppo Reno, Oppo Reno 10X Zoom Edition and 5G variant. It appears the company will be launching only the first two models as 5G is not operational in India.
Reno series phones have new design and come with shark fin-designed pop-up selfie camera. The Reno 10X Zoom Edition is a flagship phone and is powered by the latest Snapdragon 855 processor. The other highlights of this phone is its Triple rear cameras of 48MP, 8MP and 13MP telephoto sensor with 10x hybrid optical zoom. Both the phones come with in-diplay fingerprint sensor.
OPPO Reno comes wtih 6.4-inch (2340 × 1080 pixels) Full HD+ AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 19:5:9 and protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 6. This phone is powered by Octa Core Snapdragon 710 processor with Adreno 616 GPU. This phone has 6GB and 8GB LPDDR4X RAM with 128GB (UFS 2.1) of internal storage and alternatively 8GB LPDDR4X RAM with 256GB (UFS 2.1) of memory. It is to be seen whether all the variants are launched in India. This phone is packed with 3765mAh battery with VOOC 3.0 fast charging.
On the imaging front, this phone is equipped with Dual Rear cameras of 48MP with LED flash, 1/2.25 inch Sony IMX586 sensor and f/1.7 aperture with features of PDAF. The secondary camera of 5MP comes with f/2.4 aperture. For selfie, this phone has 16MP front camera with LED flash, f/2.0 aperture and 79.3° wide angle lens.
The Reno 10x is top of the range phone and sports a 6.6-inch (2340 × 1080 pixels) Full HD+ AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 19:5:9 and Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection. It is powered by Octa-Core Snapdragon 855 processor with Adreno 640 GPU. It also comes with 6GB / 8GB LPDDR4X RAM with 128GB (UFS 2.1) of internal storage and also 8GB LPDDR4X RAM variant with 256GB (UFS 2.1) of internal memory. This phone is packed with 4065mAh battery with VOOC 3.0 fast charging storage.
This phone is armed with tiple rear cameras comprising of 48MP with LED flash, 1/2.25 inch Sony IMX586 sensor, f/1.7 aperture, 13MP periscope telephoto lens with f/3.0 aperture, 8MP 120° Ultra Wide Lens with f/2.2 aperture with features of OIS, Laser AF, PDAF and 10x Hybrid Optical Zoom. For selfies, this phone also has 16MP front camera with LED flash, f/2.0 aperture and 79.3° wide angle.
Both the phones support Dual SIM and run Android 9.0 Pie with ColorOS 6.0. Both the phones offer connectivity options of Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac dual-band, 3.5 mm audio jack, Bluetooth 5, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, NFC and USB Type-C port. Both the phones come with Hi-Res Audio with Dolby Atmos.
