Xiaomi has launched today Redmi 12 series in India today in 5G and 4G variants. These two models Redmi 12 5G and Redmi 12 which is 4G variant feature 6.79 inch FHD+ Display with a resolution of 2460×1080, 550nits of peak brightness and a 90Hz AdaptiveSync display. With a 91% screen-to-body ratio and a powerful 12x17mm loudspeaker, these smartphones claim to deliver an immersive audio and visual experience.
Redmi 12 5G is powered by India’s first Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor built on a flagship-level 4nm architecture. The improved Qualcomm Kryo CPU 64-bit architecture packs up to 2.2 GHz peak speeds, improving UI experiences, enabling faster multitasking, and improving the overall power efficiency. This phone comes with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of USF 2.2 storage which is expandable up to 1TB with a micro-SD card. It supports virtual RAM extensions of up to 12GB and 16GB, respectively.
Redmi 12 5G is equipped with the X61 modem, allowing swift 5G connections, lower latency, power efficiency, and widespread coverage. Users can download heavy files ultra-fast, browse and stream high-definition content and indulge in immersive online gaming experiences at high speeds and on the go as further claimed by the brand.
The Redmi 12 4G is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G88 SoC which is combined with up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage.
On the camera front, the Redmi 12 is equipped with 50MP rear camera with f/1.8 aperture, 8MP ultra-wide camera with f/2.2 aperture, 2MP macro camera and LED flash. The 5G variant is armed with 50MP rear camera, LED flash and 2MP depth sensor. Both the phones feature 8MP front camera.
The Redmi 12 series phones are packed with a 5,000mAh battery with 22.5W in-box charger. Besides 4G and 5G connectivity, these phones also offer connectivity options of WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, v5.0, NFC, and USB Type-C. Both the phone have an IP53 rating for dust and water resistance. Both the phones come with Side-mounted fingerprint sensor and Infrared sensor.Both the phones run on Android 13-based MIUI 14.

The Redmi 12 Series comes in three colours: Jade Black, Pastel Blue, and Moonstone Silver.
