Samsung has launched today two mid-range smartphones in India – Galaxy J7 Pro and Galaxy J7 Max. These phones run on Android Nougat OS and comes in Black and Gold colors. Both the phones have a metal unibody.
The unique features of these phones are that Samsung Pay will be available on Galaxy J7 Pro while Galaxy J7 Max comes with Samsung Pay Mini. Samsung Pay enable users to use Paytm as well as the government’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI), credit and debit cards by tapping the phone on the Point of Sale (PoS) machines. Samsung Pay Mini which is toned down version of Samsung Pay, works with mobile wallets and payment services such as Paytm and UPI. Samsung Pay Mini is being launched first on Galaxy J7 Max and will be made available on select existing J series devices shortly.
Both the phones launched today are mounted with 13MP rear camera with LED flash, f/1.7 aperture. For selfies, these phones have 13MP front camera with LED flash and f/1.9 aperture. The Galaxy J7 Max also features a smart glow mode around the rear camera which gives you alerts for notifications when they come.
The cameras on both the phones are social camera for instant sharing, instant editing and instant discovery. According to Samsung, users can pin their favorite contacts and social media within the camera and share their moments as they click. The instant editing will help consumers create engaging social media-ready content on-the-go by applying live filters or live stickers and share it instantly with social media apps. This reduces dependency on third party image editing apps. The instant discovery feature adds a whole new dimension through the augmented reality camera that allows users to discover their surroundings for popular photography spots, restaurants and shopping areas.
Both the phones have fingerprint sensors embedded on the home button and also come with Ultra Data Saving, S bike mode, S Power Planning. Both the phones support Dual SIM.
As far as other features are concerned, the Galaxy J7 Pro features a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels resolution) Full HD Super AMOLED 2.5D curved glass display. It is powered by
1.6GHz Octa-Core Exynos 7870 processor with 3GB LPDDR3 RAM, 64GB internal memory which can be extended upto 256GB with microSD card. This phone is packed with 3600mAh battery.
The Galaxy J7 Max flaunts a 5.7inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD TFT 2.5D curved glass display. It is powered by 1.6GHz MediaTek Helio P20 Octa-Core, 64-bit processor alongwith
4GB RAM and 32GB of internal memory, expandable up to 128GB with microSD card. This phone gets its juice from 3300mAh battery.
Both the phones also offers connectivity options of 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS.
The Galaxy J7 Max and Galaxy J7 Pro are priced INR 17,900 and INR 20,900, respectively. Galaxy J7 Max will be available starting June 20, 2017 whereas Galaxy J7 Pro will start selling in mid-July.
