Samsung India has expanded its portfolio of Galaxy J family and launched today its affordable Galaxy J2 smartphone. With the introduction of Galaxy J2, Samsung has further strengthened its portfolio of 4G LTE smart phones allowing customers to have superfast internet connectivity and faster downloads.
Samsung Galaxy J2 will be available from September 21 across all channels, at a price of INR 8,490.
The Galaxy J2 will be available in gold, white, and black colors and comes with a premium metallic finish and faux-leather back panel. It is a slim device and has thickness of 8.4mm.
Samsung states that Galaxy J2 haS been developed in Samsung’s Indian R&D facilities. One of the main features of Galaxy J2 is its Ultra Data Saving mode powered by Opera Max, which enable users to allow and block individual apps from using mobile data and save data by enabling data optimization at the same time. Each action takes just one click in Ultra Data Saving Mode. Users will also get an overview so they can track how much mobile data is consumed and saved.
Ultra Data Saving mode reduces data consumption on images, webpages, videos and audio streams, especially with image-heavy or video apps, such as Instagram, YouTube, Vine, and Flipboard. Ultra Data Saving mode provides up to 50% savings in data and also frees up to 11% RAM, thereby refining customer’s experience on a smartphone.
From hardware perspective, the Galaxy J2 features a 4.7-inch qHD (540×960 pixels) Super Amoled display. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core Exynos 3475 processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of inbuilt storage which can be expanded upto 128GB via microSD card. This is a Dual SIM device and is packed with 2000mAh battery.
This phone is equipped with a 5 mega pixel rear camera with a low F 2.2 aperture and LED flash and also houses a 2 mega pixel front camera for video calling and selfies. It runs on Android Lollipop 5.1 OS.
For connectivity, it also offers options of Bluetooth v4.1, USB 2.0, GPS , Glonass, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n 2.4GHz, Wi-Fi Direct. For faster 4G speeds, the Galaxy J2 incorporated Download Booster that combines 4G speeds with WiFi speeds to deliver faster than 4G downloads.
