Samsung India has launched today two budget tablets – Galaxy Tab A and Galaxy Tab E with voice calling feature. The Galaxy Tab A is 4G-LTE enabled device and supports multiple frequency bands for both FDD and TDD modes.
Samsung Galaxy Tab A is priced Rs. 20,500 and on purchase of this, Galaxy gifts worth Rs. 30,000 are offered across genres such as Entertainment, eBooks, Lifestyle, Utility Apps with Galaxy Tab A in India. Airtel will also be offering 2GB data free for 2 months on its 4G network to Tab A consumers.
The Galaxy Tab E has a price tag of Rs. 16,900, and will be available exclusively on Flipkart. For buyers of Tab E, Vodafone will be offering free 2GB of 3G data per month for 2 months for post-paid consumers and 1GB of 3G data free on purchase of 1GB by a prepaid consumer for 2 months.
Galaxy Tab A will be available in Smoky Titanium and White colours whereas Galaxy Tab E will be available in Metallic Black and Pearl White colours.
The Galaxy Tab A features 8 inch XGA TFT (1024 X 768) display ensures an optimal viewing experience with its 4:3 aspect ratio and rich Adaptive Display. The device is capable of automatically adjusting the colour gamut, contrast and sharpness on the screen to add to the viewing pleasure, as claimed by the company.
This tablet is powered by a Quad-Core 1.2GHz, 64 Bit processor paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage extendable to 128GB via microSD card. It runs on Android Lollipop OS and is equipped with 5MP Auto-Focus front camera and 2MP rear camera. It is capable of doing video recording in 720p and playback in 1080p. Besides 4G LTE, 3G and 2G, it has other connectivity options such as WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.1, USB2.0. It is packed with a 4200mAh battery. It has dimensions of 137.9 x 208.4 x 7.5mm and its weight is 320 grams.
On the other hand, the Galaxy Tab E sports a 9.6 inch WXGA TFT (1280 x 800) screen with 16:10 ratio for better viewing. It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat OS and is driven by 1.3GHz Quad-core processor coupled with 1.5GB RAM and 8GB internal storage extendable to 128GB. It is also equipped with 5MP Auto-Focus front camera and 2MP rear camera, and capable of doing video recording in 720p and playback in 1080p. Besides 3G and 2G, it has other connectivity options such as WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, USB2.0. It is packed with a 5000mAh battery. It has dimensions of 149.5 x 241.9 x 8.5 mm, and its weight is 495 grams.
Both the Galaxy Tab A and E Galaxy Tab E comes with ‘Kids Mode’, which offers content that motivates children to use the tablet to explore, create and have fun. The kids-friendly GUI ensures apps are simplified, visually stimulating and highly intuitive for the child.
