Samsung India has sent out media invite for an event on 16th July in New Delhi where two mid-range selfie-focussed smartphones – Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 are expected to be unveiled. These two smartphone were launched in China last month and are expected to be in the range of Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 19,000.
The Galaxy J5 and J7 are Dual-SIM and Dual Standby devices and run on Android Lollipop 5.0 OS. These smartphones will be available in white, black and gold colors.
The Samsung Galaxy J5 sports a 5-inch TFT HD display (1280×720 pixels resolution). It is packed with 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor coupled with 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage, which is expandable to 128GB via microSD card. This phone is equipped with a 13-megapixel rear autofocus camera with f/1.9 aperture and also houses a 5-megapixel front camera. It comes with a 2600mAh battery. It has connectivity options of 4G besides 3G, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi, NFC etc.
On the other hand, the Galaxy J7 comes with 5.5-inch TFT display with resolution of 1280×720 pixels. It is driven by octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor. This handset is equipped with a 3000mAh battery. Rest of the features of Galaxy J7 are similar to that of Galaxy J5.
The sucess of these two devices will depend upon its pricing as currently many Chinese brands are flooding the Indian market with many devices at very attractive prices. For maintaining its leadership position in India, Samsung will try its best to fix the prices of these two devices keeping in view of very tough competition in mid-range space.
