Samsung has launched Galaxy Z Flip smartphone at the Unpacked 2020 event in USA alongside the Galaxy S20 Series of smartphones.
The Galaxy Z Flip folds into the size of a wallet and can be easily fit in your pocket or bag. When closed, it is a stylish, compact palm-sized device.
When opened, its screen size nearly doubles to 6.7-inch display. It has 6.7 inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED Display(21.9:9) which Samsung calls Infinity Flex Display with resolution of 2636 x 1080 pixels and 425ppi. Its Infinity Flex Display comes with Samsung’s proprietary bendable Ultra Thin Glass (UTG), making it slimmer with a sleek, premium look. The centered in-display camera cutout at the top also means there’s no notch and no distractions, with Samsung’s first-ever 21.9:9 ratio for enjoying content such as cinema-ratio 21:9 shows and movies. Being a foldable phone, it has cover display of 1.1 inch having Super AMOLED Display with resolution of 300 x 112 pixels and 303ppi.
This phone has Flex mode which splits the display into two 4-inch screens to view images, contents or videos on the top half of the display, and control them on the bottom half. Even when the Galaxy Z Flip is closed, standing upright or open, you can see a text, receive call or reminder. When closed, you can check the date, time and battery status at a glance on the cover display.
On the hardware front, this phone is powered by Octa-Core Snapdragon 855 Plus 7nm processor with Adreno 640 GPU. It comes with 8GB RAM with 256GB internal storage. This phone is packed with 3,300 mAh (typical) dual battery with Fast Charging compatible via power cord and Wireless PowerShare. This phone has side-mounted fingerprint sensor and face recognition feature.
This phone has 10MP Selfie Camera with F2.4 aperture. It is armed with dual rear cameras of 12MP Ultra Wide Camera with F2.2 aperture having Pixel size of 1.12?m, FOV of 123 degree and secondary 12MP Wide-angle Camera with features of Super Speed Dual Pixel AF, OIS, F1.8 aperture, Pixel size of 1.4?m and FOV of 78 degree. Priced at USD 1380, the Galaxy Z Flip will be available in limited quantities in Mirror Purple and Mirror Black, starting in select markets including the U.S. and Korea on February 14, 2020, followed by Mirror Gold in select countries.
