Sony has launched plethora of new devices at IFA and one of them is Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. This tablet is touted by the comapny as the world’s slimmest and lightest compact tablet. This tablet is just 6.4mm slim and weighs just 270 grams. The Xperia Z3 Tablet compact has stainless steel corners, an ultra slim rounded frame and a tempered glass front, which provides it an elegant look.
The Xperia Z3 Tablet compact features a 8 inch Full HD TRILUMINOS screen (1920×1200 pixels) with Live Colour LED technology. It is driven by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 Quad-core 2.5 GHz processor with Adreno 330 GPU, coupled with 3GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage extendable to 128GB via microSD card. Running on Android 4.4 KitKat OS, it is packed with a 4500mAh battery, which is rated to deliver 13 hours of high quality video playback. The battery has STAMINA Mode feature, which turns off background functions when you’re not using them to help extend your battery life.
The Xperia Z3 Tablet compact is water and dust resistant and comes with the improved IP65/68 certification.
The Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact comes with an 8.1-megapixel autofocus rear camera with Exmor RS sensor with various features which are also available on new Xperia range of smartphones. These features are Multi-Camera for recording from multiple angles at the same time and Movie Creator for creating a movie automatically from your photos and videos. You can broadcast your videos live via Live on YouTube by Xperia add and can add scribbles and animations to pictures with AR fun. You can also add sound to a photo with Sound Photo and capture an event and your reaction to it with Face in.
Like newly introduced Xperia range of samrtphones, the Xperia Z3 tablet compact is the only tablet to have PS4 Remote Play feature , which allows users to play PS4 games onto the tablet over the home Wi-Fi network.
For connectivity, this tablet provides options of 4G LTE, GPRS/ EDGE, A-GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, NFC, and Bluetooth 4.0.
This tablet will be available in black and white color variants and will start selling in Autumn 2014. Sony has not disclosed the price of this tablet.
