At the sidelines of IFA in Berlin, Japanese giant Sony has launched three smartphones in its Xperia series. These smartphones are flagship Xperia Z3, mid-range Xperia Z3 Compact and budget Xperia E3 smartphone.
The Xperia Z3 has following features :
- 5.2-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) TRILUMINOS display
- 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor
- Android KitKat 4.4 OS
- 3GB RAM
- 16GB of built-in storage, extendable to 128GB via microSD card
- Improved Water and Dust resistance with IP65/68 certification
- 20.7-megapixel autofocus rear camera with the new 25mm wide-angle Sony G Lens. It is capability of 4K (Ultra-HD) video recording
- 2.2-megapixel front camera
- 3100mAh battery
- Dual Sim ( to be available in select markets )
- Connectivity Options : Bluetooth, Wi-Fi with hotspot, 3G, 4G LTE (in select markets), GPS/ A-GPS, Glonass, Micro-USB, DLNA, and NFC.
The Xperia Z3 camera comes with very useful feaures such as Face In for capturing any event and your reaction to it at the same time. You can add scribbles and animations to pictures with AR fun. You can create a movie from your photos and videos with Movie creator and add sound to a photo with Sound Photo.
The Xperia Z3 is the first smartphone to have PS4 Remote Play, which allows users to play their PS4 games onto the Xperia Z3 over the home Wi-Fi network.
The Sony Xperia Z3 will be available in White, Black, Copper, and Silver Green color variants. Sony hasn’t revealed the price and availability schedule of this device. It is expected that this device will be made available from early October.
Sony Xperia Z3 Compact
The Xperia Z3 is mini version of the flagship device Xperia Z3 and comes with 4.6-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) Triluminos display, and is powered by the same processor which drives the Xperia Z3. It is equipped with 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM, which is extenable to 128GB via micro SD card. For running this smartphone, it has been provided with 2600mAh battery.
It has same rear and front camera specifications and features. The Xperia Z3 also incorporates the PS4 Remote Play. The Sony Xperia Z3 Compact will be available in White, Black, Orange and Green color variants.

Sony Xperia E3
This is budget smartphone introduced by Sony sports a 4.5-inch IPS display with a 480×854 pixel resolution and is driven by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, with 1GB RAM and 4GB internal memory, which is expandable to 32GB by microSD card. It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat OS and 2330mAh battery will keep it alive.
It is equipped with a 5-megapixel rear camera which comes with apps such as Timeshift burst and AR effect. You an also share your videos live to Facebook via the Social live app or to YouTube via the Live on YouTube by Xperia app. It also has ’shake to start’ app that lets you customise shortcuts to any app. With a simple flick of the wrist you can launch or open Facebook. This phone also houses a front-facing VGA camera.
For connectivity, the Xperia E3 has options of 3G, 4G LTE, GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi, A-GPS with Glonass, USB 2.0, FM radio with RDS, Bluetooth 4.0, and a 3.5mm jack. This device measures 137.1×69.4×8.5mm, and weighs 144 grams.
There is no word about its pricing but this phone will also roll-out with other announced smartphones sometimes in the month of October.
