Sony PlayStation 4 Arrives In India, Priced At Rs. 39,990

Sony India has launched the latest in gaming world, the new generation Sony PlayStation 4 (PS 4) in India. Competing with Microsoft X Box One, Sony’s PlayStation 4 has its own set of unique features. PS 4 will be available in stores across India for a hefty price of Rs. 39,990. It will start selling from 6th January, 2014 however it will be available for pre-order on major online e-commerce stores (Flipkart).

Sony PS4 LaunchThe PlayStation 4 comes with a lineup of over 20 first- and third-party games, including titles like Knack and Killzone: Shadow Fall. According to Sony India, the PS4 will have a library of over 30 games by the end of the year.

In terms of specifications, Sony PlayStation 4 comes loaded with a powerful eight core X86 AMD (Jaguar) CPU and a 1.84 Teraflop AMD Radeon graphics engine. If you are newbie to gaming console then let me just tell you that these is some really powerful processing power stacked into PS 4 with the capability of delivering some jaw dropping graphics. Apart from this PS 4 also has a 8 GB GDDR5 memory couple with Face recognition for login security and voice command options. It will come with a 500 GB hard drive for storage instead of SSD. In the boxed content, aside the core hardware you’ll also get a single unit of controller.

Multiplayer gamers will have to buy an additional controller for Rs 4,999. The PS4 system integrates second screens, including the PlayStation Vita system (PS Vita), smartphones and tablets, to connect gamers to the PlayStation ecosystem wherever they are.

The PS4 system enables gamers to share their gameplay moments with friends. With a press of the “Share” button on the Dualshock 4 wireless controller, images and videos can be shared with other players in the activity feed on their PS4 system’s Dynamic Menu, or on social networking services such as Facebook.  Gameplay screens and videos can also be shared with friends online.

Amongst other features, with PS 4 users will be able to download the games directly to their console, involving the use Gaikai game streaming technology. Moreover with this tech users will be able to play the game online as it downloads. The console also has the ability to download games in the background, even while it is powered off. However the Gaikai game streaming technology will be available from next year only.

Sony PlayStation 4 will compete with Microsoft’s recently launched Xbox One console, but Microsoft has not confirmed yet when it will be bringing its latest console in India.
