Sony has added two more members to its Xperia family and has announced today two new smartphones, which have been christened as Xperia M and Xperia M Dual. Both these smartphones have similar features except that the latter smartphone has Dual-SIM capabilities.
Sony Xperia M and Xperia M Dual feature a 4.0-inch TFT display of FWVGA resolution. Both the smartphones are powered by 1GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage of which 2.8GB is user-accessible. The storage can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. Both the devices are equipped with a 5-megapixel rear camera with auto-focus and HDR for photos, and a 0.3-megapixel front snapper. Both these smartphones are packed with a 1,750mAh battery and the connectivity options include Wi-Fi, 3G with HSPA, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC.
Sony Xperia M run on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) while the Xperia M Dual will run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
The Xperia M Dual with Dual-SIM feature lets users select between two SIMs before making a call or sending a message with just a single click.
The Sony Xperia M will be available in four colour options – Black, White, Purple and yellow, and Xperia M Dual will be available in Black, White and Purple colours.
While announcing the above two smartphones, Sony has not revealed its prices, but they will be mid-ranged and will be priced economically. However, these smartphones will start retailing worldwide in Q3 2013.
