Huawei has joined the bandwagon and has launched a MediaPad tablet and two new smart-phones viz. Huawei Sonic and Huawei IDEOS X3 in India.
Huawei MediaPad tablet runs on Android 3.2 OS and is powered by Qualcomm’s 1.2 GHz dual core processor. It has following technical specifications:
- 7″ inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels
- 5 megapixel auto focus rear camera
- 1.3 megapixel front camera
- 4100mAh Li-Polymer battery
- Inbuilt flash support
- HSDPA connectivity
This tablet is priced at Rs. 28359/- for the Indian markets.
Huawei Sonic smartphone is one of the first cloud phones to arrive in the Indian market. It has the following features:
- 3.5″ inch TFT LCD screen
- 3.2 megapixel camera
- 1400mAh Lithium-ion battery
- 256 MB RAM
- 512 MB on-board storage
- 20 GB of additional storage (4 GB of bundled microSD card and 16 GB on the cloud drive)
- Android 2.3 OS
- 600 MHz processor
Huawei Sonic mobile phone is priced at Rs. 9210/-, an affordable figure for those looking to try out the Android OS.
The next comes Huawei Ideos X3 smartphone. It resembles to much of the Sonic’s specifications (you’ll know after going through it’s tech specs). It has the following features:

- 3.2 megapixel camera
- 256MB RAM
- 512GB on-board memory
- 20 GB of additional storage
- Bluetooth, USB and Wi-Fi connectivity

The differentiating factors are the battery capacity, screen size (smaller by 1 inch, which is barely noticeable) and the absence of front camera in Huawei Ideos X3. Ideos X3 is priced at Rs. 10229/-.
