Uber has launched UberJOURNEYS, a collection of video-stories about the lives of riders and driver-partners. This campaign complements the recently launched ‘Apnapan’ campaign and aims to tell the extraordinary stories of everyday people who use the Uber platform.
The first UberJOURNEYS video?,? titled ‘The World in Voices’?,? brings to life ?the inspiring story of Ruchir Falodiya, a social media manager at TATA CLiQ. Like many others, Ruchir relies on Uber for his daily commute?. ?But unlike many?,? he has a ?deeper connect?ion? with technology.? Visually impaired from birth, Ruchir sees the world in voices – one that he says is full of possibilities and great adventures. With an aim to contribute to open-source technology and build products that ?will help visually impaired people like him, Ruchir started coding at the age of 15.
Sanjay Gupta, Head of Marketing, Uber India, said, “In the months prior to the launch of our mass media campaign, we spent hours in conversation with both riders and driver-partners, to understand the role our platform plays in their lives. And having completed half a billion rides in India – the stories we heard of their everyday lives were nothing short of inspirational. These stories needed a platform to be told and this was the genesis of UberJOURNEYS – a showcase of the extraordinary journeys of ordinary people.”
Uber is committed to building solutions that support mobility for all. With VoiceOver iOS, Android TalkBack, and wireless brail?l?e display compatibility, Uber is enabling ?millions in the ?visually impaired and low vision community ?to seek a greater degree of independence in their ?everyday lives. Riders like Ruchir reinforce Uber’s belief that when technology is paired with mobility, it will open up a future of opportunities and independence for all, adds the statement of the company.
