Fortunately it never happened with me as well! However, i have had some close calls and once (almost) lost my phone. WaveSecure Remotely locks down your device, automatically backs up your data from your phone on the web and locates your phone showing an approximate location on a map.

WaveSecure Review

WaveSecure has an installation size of approx 600 Kb (Tested on Nokia 5230) and installs on the phone memory itself. Other than the core application, no other extra component is installed. Once installed, running the application for the first time, it does initial setup involving setting a new PIN code (Password but only in digits) and contact number of a trusted person, after which the home-screen is shown with various options viz. Secure Phone, Tracking, BackUp Data, Media Upload and Settings. The functions are self explanatory and each one does it’s task efficiently and effectively. WaveSecure is a versatile mobile application that serves multiple purposes.

It not only acts as a saviour of your mobile phone but also keeps your data backed up on its servers and that too automatically! Amazing, isn’t it. I stumbled upon this mobile application accidentally and am glad that i installed it straight away. Since, the time i installed this application, life has been much easier for me. I, no more back up my contacts, calender entries, notes, etc via Nokia PC Suite on desktop computer, everything is now backed up by WaveSecure online automatically. Moreover, the location tracking feature of WaveSecure is pretty awesome, just visit the web version of WaveSecure and get the approximate location of your device on the map! All in all i really really loved this application and is recommended to all the mobile phone users who are concerned about the safety of their data. Everything being said, there are things that i didn’t like about WaveSecure mobile application:

• The application sends some type of International sms (maybe to its servers for activation/deactivation) both while installing and removing it, which costed me Rs. 5 each time. WaveSecure should have mentioned this while installing the application.
• Some options like Securing the mobile phone, location tracking from the application itself seemed to be useless (Why would i want to track my own location when the mobile is with me?).

Other than the above mentioned minor problems, i found WaveSecure to be a “Must Have” application for you mobile phone, be it a Symbian, Android, Blackberry, Windows or even a Java running device.
