Those followers of Samsung Galaxy smartphones, who are planning to buy the latest flagship Galaxy S4 smartphone, which is being launched in India on 26th April, must be guessing how much they will have to budjet for to own this device. Many rumors and unconfirmed reports are floating in the media and blog sites about the probable pricing of Galaxy S4.
Majority of the analysts are of the view that the Galaxy S4 will be in the range of Rs. 40,000 of Rs. 43,000. Some are of the view that keeping in view Samsung’s brand equity, aggression in marketing and large customer base, the company can command a higher price compared to recently launched flagship smartphones especially HTC One and also of LG and Sony.
Samsung is not only making smartphones but also a smart company and its top management cannot ignore the fact that the marketing dynamics are changing rapidly especially in price-sensitive market like India. Although Samsung has the money power to promote its products, but other companies especially Sony, are also spending a lot to promote its recently launched XPeria Z smartphone and getting tremendous response from the market. LG and HTC are also not far behind to push their Optimus G and HTC One smartphones, respectively.
In high-end Android segment, Samsung will face competition from HTC One, priced at Rs. 42K; XPeria Z of Sony, priced at Rs. 38K, and LG Optimus G, priced at Rs. 34K. In order to be successful and to achieve ambitious targets, Samsung is expected to give price tag of Rs. 40,000 to its new Galaxy S4. Samsung can also play with the price a little bit by keeping it maximum Rs. 43,000, and give cashback of upto Rs. 2500, if one buys it through some credit cards of some banks against EMI, as it is currently promoting its other Galaxy devices.
In our opinion, the price of Rs. 39,999, for Galaxy S4, will attract many buyers and Samsung will achieve unheard of sales figures in India. Let us wait till 26th April to see what is store for Samsung Galaxy lovers!
