At an event in Spain yesterday, Chinese giant Xiaomi had launched two Android One smartphones – Mi A2 and MI A1 Lite. Xiaomi India head and VP Manu Jain has tweeted that Xiaomi Mi A2 will be launching in the country on 8th August.
On the specifications front, the Mi A2 sports a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display (2160×1080 pixels) with 18:9 aspect ratio and 2.5D curved Gorilla glass for protection. This phone is powered by octa-core Snapdragon 660 processor with Adreno 512 GPU and mated with 4GB LPDDR4x RAM with 32GB or alternatively with 64GB (eMMC 5.1) of internal storage. The other variant has 6GB LPDDR4x RAM with 128GB (eMMC 5.1) of internal storage. This phone is packed with 3010mAh battery with QuickCharge 3.0 and is capable of charging from zero to 50 percent in 30 minutes as claimed by the company.
On the optics front, this phone has front and rear cameras with AI integration. It is mounted with vertically stacked dual rear cameras comprising of primary 12MP rear camera with LED flash, f/1.75 aperture, 1.25-micron pixels, Sony IMX486 sensor and 20MP secondary camera with Sony IMX376 sensor with f/1.75 aperture, 2 micron 4 in 1 pixels size. The rear camera has features of PDAF and Dual Tone LED flash. For selfies, this phone is equipped with 20MP front shooter with Sony IMX376 sensor, f/1.75 aperture and soft-LED flash.
Both the front and rear cameras have features of AI Scene Recognition for better photography, AI Portrait, AI Background Bokeh and AI Smart Beauty 4.0.
For security, this phone incorporates fingerprint sensor on the back and Face Unlock feature. This phone offers connectivity options of Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5 LE, GPS + GLONASS,IR Sensor and USB Type-C port. This phone has dimensions of 158.7×75.4×7.3mm and weighs 168g.
This phone will be available in Black, Lake Blue, Gold colour options and price in Europe starts at Euro 249 which works out to Rs. 20K approximately. We will come to know exact pricing for India on 8th August only. Stay tuned!
