Apple’s iPhone 4S is now available across the globe starting 14th October, 2011. Apple received more than 1 million pre-orders for the iPhone 4S in a single day before availability on the shelves of retail stores across the globe. This figure is 67% more than than for the previous version of the device.
Demand for the iPhone 4S , which was introduced a day before Apple co-founder Steve Jobs passed away, is a tribute to the technology czar’s legacy, said William Choi, an analysts. “It is the last phone developed with Steve Jobs at Apple”, Choi said. ” There are definitely some sentiments at play here”.
The rush to buy the new iPhone also shows pent up demand, which followed the previous version by 16 months-longer than usual. Apple unveiled the iPhone 4S last week pricing it at $199, $299 and $399 in US. The new model is the first Apple product release since the death of Steve Jobs.
The iPhone represents the company’s biggest source of revenue, accounting for about half of sales. The new iPhone 4S will break many records and sales figure shall prove this prediction in the coming days.
