The winners of the first ever Gaana Awards 2013, an initiative by Times Internet, were announced today. Gaana Awards 2013 has honoured both the Indian and International music acts.The awards were selected on the basis of actual play-outs & consumption by millions of users across the digital platforms on Gaana.com. The Gaana Award, 2013 for “Most popular singer (male)” was awarded to Arijit Singh for the song “Tum Hi Ho” from Aashiqui 2. The Bollywood singing sensation Shreya Ghoshal won the maiden “Most popular singer (female)” for her singing rendition in Aashiqui 2. Aashiqui2 also swept the award for “Most popular Hindi Album.” The “Most popular Hindi Gaana” award was won by “Tum hi ho.” Priyanka Chopra won the “Most Popular International Gaana” for her chartbuster song ‘Exotic’. An innovative and interesting award category like ‘Fastest-to-First Song’ was awarded to ‘Badtameez dil’ from “Yeh Jawaani hai Deewani” and the “Most popular Tamil and Kannada” was given to ‘Vaanganna Vanakkanganna’ and ‘Thangali’ respectively.
