OPPO Joy Smartphone With 4 Inches Display Launched At Rs. 8,990

Chinese handsets maker Oppo has launched today its fifth smartphone in India dubbed as Oppo Joy at Rs. 8,990. With this announcement, Oppo now has five smartphones in its portfolio for India market. These smartphones are flagship device OPPO N1 that is the world’s first smartphone with a 5.9” screen, 206-degree rotating camera and rear touch panel. Besides this the other smartphones available are the OPPO R1, OPPO Find 5, OPPO Neo and now OPPO Joy. The much-anticipated Find7 is expected to be launched around June. Oppo intends to have around 10 smartphones for Indian market by the end of this year.

joy_1The OPPO Joy incorporates Nano surface coating technology and features a 4.0” WVGA HD screen with 480×800 pixels resolution. You can operate on this screen with your long fingernails or wet hands and even when you wear gloves. The device is equipped with a 3-megapixel rear plus 0.3-megapixel front camera. The Oppo Joy is powered with a 1.3GHz dual-core processor coupled with a 512MB RAM and 4GB internal memory, which can be expanded upto 32GB via microSD card. It is fuelled by a 1700mAh battery. This smartphone measures 124x63x9.9mm and weighs 125 grams.

OPPO JoyThe OPPO Joy is a Dual-Sim smartphone, and runs on Android Jelly Bean 4.2 OS with Oppo’s Color OS superimposed on this. It has Hotknot feature which not only enables faster, limitless transmission but secure file sharing as well. This technology is claimed by the company results in low power consumption and offers fast transmission speed at zero cost. OPPO Joy is the first smartphone in India to come with this technology. This smartphone also comes with gesture feature for waking up the device.

The OPPO Joy also comes with O-Cloud, and gives the user 5G cloud storage space for free for easy access to upload and download their stored pictures, music, videos and other content anytime on their OPPO smartphones and computers.

OPPO has also announced its plans for service network expansion in India with a target of over 200 service centres in the next one year. OPPO currently retails in 12 major cities – New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Kolkata, Pune and Lucknow. The company will also be targeting a mix of multi-brand retail and channel partners, small format stores and self-branded stores for the network expansion drive.
