Dev Anand – evergreen hero of Indian cinema, was embodiment of romanticism, zest for life, passion for his profession, creativity, hardwork and urge to make movies. He defied age and all conventions, dogmas and made films even when he was 88. He said once that although he was 88 yet he still felt the same way when he was 20 years old.
This speaks volumes about his personality and character. He acted in record breaking movies and also directed super hit Hindi movies like Hare Rama Hare Krishna etc. He introduced leading actors and actresses like Zeenat Aman, Jackie Shroff, Shatrughan Sinha and Tina Munim etc, who later performed in many Hindi movies.
Dev Anand was always in working mode and never thought about retiring from the active life. He made films after films despite the fact that his latest films were not as successful as his earlier ones. But he had a passion to make films and it was his desire to go from this earth with his boots on and exactly did the same. Going by media reports, he was in London in connection with some work for his film.
Had he been alive, he would have contributed a lot to Hindi cinema but probably Somebody Above us wanted to give him rest. Dev Anand‘s type of persons do not die; they live for ever in the hearts of their admirers.
Those persons who are passionate about whatever they do, should pursue it whatever the consequences and ultimately they will be winners. This is one of the lessons from Dev Anand‘s life.
