At an event in New Delhi, Harley-Davidson launched its 2017 model-year lineup and added two new models- Harley-Davidson Road Glide Special and Roadster.
The Roadster is the latest member of Sportster family and combines power, agility and garage-built custom style that epitomizes nearly 60 years of Sportster spirit. The Road Glide Special IN the Touring family, is equipped with Milwaukee-Eight engine, the ninth edition of the Big Twin since its inception.
Milwaukee-Eight 107 (107 CID, 1745cc) featuring precision oil-cooled cylinder heads will power the Harley-Davidson Street Glide Special, the Road Glide Special and Road King models. It also incorporates a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
The Twin-Cooled Milwaukee-Eight 114 (114 CID,1870cc) featuring liquid-cooled cylinder will power the CVO Limited. Due to their redesigned exhaust system, these engines are claimed offer 10 per cent more torque and better heat management.
The Road Glide Special as shown above is priced Rs. 32, 81, 000 (ex-showroom Delhi) whereas Street Glide Special has price tag of Rs 31.25 lakh.
The 2017 touring models will now come with anti-lock braking system, all-new front and rear suspension across all 13 Harley-Davidson motorcycles in India. According to the company, the new emulsion-technology rear shock absorbers offer 15 to 30 percent more pre-load adjustment than previous standard Touring shocks, with a single knob to hydraulically adjust pre-load. The front suspension features new Showa SDBV suspension technology that delivers the damping performance of a racing-style cartridge fork with linear damping characteristics and reduced weight.
The Harley-Davidson Roadster priced at Rs. 9,70,000 is the newest addition to the popular Sportster family of motorcycles and will be assembled at Harley-Davidson’s plant in Bawal, Haryana. It has a minimalist, fastback design inspired by classic racing motorcycles.
Priced at Rs. 4, 91, 000 (ex-showroom, Delhi) 2017 Harley-Davidson Street 750 model now comes with a new tank badge and optional two-color schemes – Vivid Black Deluxe and Fire Red Deluxe alongwith ABS.
