HTC becomes the first smartphones vendor to launch non-Nexus smartphone with Google’s latest Android Marshmallow 6.0 OS. HTC A9 is mid-range smartphone from the stable of HTC of Taiwan to run Android Marshmallow OS. This phone incorporates a multi-directional fingerprint scanner.
HTC A9 is elegantly looking smartphone and is made of metal and glass. It has refined edges, precision-cut ridges on the power button combined with the super-thin metal frame giving the phone a natural and lightweight feel. This dual finish premium looking phone is available in a Carbon Gray, Opal Silver, Topaz Gold and Deep Garnet.
The HTC One A9 features a 5 inch full HD AMOLED screen with 1080p resolution with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. It is the first smartphone to run on the Snapdragon 617 proccessor with 64-bit architecture with 4 cores at 1.5GHz and another four cores ticking at 1.2GHz
with Adreno 405 GPU..
This phone comes in two variants having RAM of 2GB with internal memory of 16GB and RAM of 3GB with internal storage of 32GB. The internal storage of both the variants can be extended upto 2TB via micoSD card.
This phone is equipped with 13MP rear sensor with sapphire cover lens, optical image stabilization and 1080p video recording. It supports RAW capture for an unmatched level of detail and post-shot editing flexibility. It also has Hyperlapse editing tool feature, which enable you to speed up your videos to 12 times as fast for a dramatic time-lapse effect. It also houses a 4MP UltraPixel sensor in the front with F/2.0 aperture, which is capable of clicking selfies in any lighting condition and can capture 300% more light than conventional smartphone cameras, as claimed by the company.
HTC One A9 is packed with a 2,150 mAh battery with Quick Charge 2.0 support (Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support will be available in the coming months).
This phone can be paired with the HTC Dot View II case for instant notifications, weather updates, caller ID, even while closed, and for enhanced gesture controls. This Dot View case will be available in Obsidian, Deep Garnet, Sea Coral and Turquoise Blue colors.
The HTC One A9 also comes with HTC BoomSound integrated into the headset combined with Dolby Audio surround technology. With optional high-resolution HTC Pro Studio Earphones, it is capable of delivering both noise isolation and truly immersive sound.
Besides Fingerprint sensor, this phone also comes with Ambient light sensor, Proximity sensor, Motion G sensor, Compass sensor, Gyro sensor,Magnetic sensor and Sensor Hub.
This phone has connectivity options of 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi: 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4 & 5 GHz), 3.5 mm stereo audio jack and micro-USB 2.0 (5-pin) port.
The HTC One A9 is light device having weight of just 143grams and it has dimensions of 145.75 x 70.8. x 7.26 mm.
The HTC One A9 will be available worldwide in the month of November. The company has not revealed the price of this smartphone, which will be announced close on the heels of its launch in respective markets.
